Friday Faves: Spring Worthy Plus Size Clothing Trends
Has winter left you feeling blue or blah?
The bulky coats….
The heavy layers….
Blah.
Nothing better than shopping or “eye-buying” to get you out of that funk!
Spring shopping can be such a task for a northern girl. When you wake up to 70 degrees and fall asleep to 25 degrees…it’s not much you can buy and/or wear to prepare for such extremes. This doesn’t stop a girl from craving all things pretty though! Actually, it makes me want to hit the stores more.
My trip through the “eye-buying” mall included stops at DSW, Saks, and One Stop Plus to name a few. All have awesome deals on lust-worthy spring styles and you absolutely can’t pass up a deal! Of course my adoration for McQueen wouldn’t let me have a shopping trip without him! Here are a few things that I can’t wait to purchase and style when the weather finally (officially) breaks.
Just Lace IT by curvesandcoffee featuring ballet flats
1. White Lace Inset Top ~ $40 ~ One Stop Plus
2. Skull Lace Print Back Pack ~ $1,995 ~ Alexander McQueen
3. Black Lace Inset Top ~ $40 ~ One Stop Plus
4. French Follies Zeal Ballet Flat ~ $20 ~ DSW
5. Joan & David Cutie Platform Pump ~ $90 ~ DSW
6. Givenchy Floral Lace Slip-on Sneaker ~ $650 ~ Saks Fifth Avenue
I’m currently craving L A C E!
Can you tell?
Lace is the perfect way to say “hey, I’m a girl and like to be pretty” without really having to say anything. There’s more feminine trends and wishful buys coming soon….hopefully a few of these things make their way into my closet!
Spring Ahead: Plus Size Fashion & Radiant Orchid
(Ahhhhhhhh)
That’s a collective sigh of relief knowing spring is right around the corner! Even though it doesn’t feel like spring in most of the states, we can still see what the season has to offer our closets!
Earlier this year, Pantone (“the world-renowned authority on color”) introduced us to Radiant Orchid, the 2014 color of the year.
Naturally, it’s bright and vibrant just in time for the weather to take a glorious turn! So, how can we incorporate this juicy color into our wardrobes now (and later?)
Let’s start with items you can easily add to update your outfits now:
Wear It Now: Pantone Color of the Year by curvesandcoffee featuring a bodycon dress
Here are a few things for later:
Pantone Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid Wear it Later by curvesandcoffee featuring Esther Williams
As the season continues (or gets started) there will be lots more to choose from. So now that we have a few options, are you willing to add Radiant Orchid to your wardrobe?

The Curvy Girls Guide to Valentine’s Day Outfit: Girls Night Out or Date Night
Partying and getting tipsy with the girls or snuggling up to the boyfriend after a nice date?
Whatever your plans may be, you’re going to need a killer outfit!
Luckily for you, I’ve got a few ideas for you to choose from.
Let’s start with a night out with the boy…You can find these fabolous pieces at online stores like; loveculture.com :: plussizefix.com :: baublebar.com and more! Simply click the photos!!
A sexy dress (perfect for this date night outfit) that’s going to hug all of your curves but still covers problem areas (if you have them of course.) Be sure to grab a coat or jacket if you’re anywhere near the 60% of the snow covered states. Keep the accessories simple, that way your honey can keep his eyes on your curves. Plus, overdoing it isn’t an option…think less disco ball and more discreet bling.
Now if you night includes dinner and bar hopping with your favorite gal pals, this outfit is for you!
This outfit choice is where you want to have a little more fun! Try new prints or different fits of your regular club clothes…this way, the jitters of wearing things outside your comfort zone won’t be a problem because you’re with your girls! Pair skinny jeans/leggings with a basic tee and dress it up with the accessories. It’s ok to brighten it up on this night.
There you have it!
Hopefully, these ideas takes away the stress of finding something to wear next weekend. Just focus on having fun!

Matchmaker Dominique Clark Gives Us First Date Advice All Women Need!
Your Last First Date!
First dates can be one of the most nerve racking and unpredictable experiences you’ll ever have! As women, we tend to let our thoughts of “Will he find me attractive?”, “Did I pick the right outfit?” and “Is this my future husband?” consume us, hardly ever resulting in a second date. We are distracted from simply getting to know the guy by somehow developing a need to be accepted by the guy! So what I want to offer are a few EASY guidelines on how to execute your next first date, leaving him wanting to know you more!
-
Define YourSWAG! – Date Swag that is! This should be defined before the date even begins. So, what is it? Date Swag is having a standard and sticking to it! It’s self-love; knowing who you are and OWNing it! Date Swag is a shift from wanting someone to choose you, to you being the one doing the choosing. It’s having an expectation; realizing you’re worthy of true love and believing that you’ll get it!
-
Keep It Light! – A first date is not to be confused with a round of 21 Questions or the autobiography of you! You will QUICKLY lose the interest of a potentially good guy by overwhelming the date with interrogations and your life story! Also…avoid topics like politics, past relationships and religion; Way too serious for a first date. Simply find out what you like about each other and what you both do in the world…
-
Let Your Body Do The Talking! – Nonverbal communication speaks louder than any phrase spoken from your mouth. So use it to your advantage and SMILE! Your smile is one of the most natural, eye-catching features that you possess, and also one of the most common features men say they find most attractive in a woman. Keep your body language smooth and open; don’t tense up and cross your arms or hunch over. Lean toward him and mirror his posture. Have fun and flirt a little!
-
Listen More Than You Speak! – This point is crucial ladies! Outside of winning cool points by showing him that you’re actually attentive to what he has to say and genuinely interested in getting to know him, this is where YOU determine if you’re interested in seeing him again based off the content of his conversation! If you like what you hear, continue to gaze in his eyes as he carries on. If not, and you’re offered a second date, politely decline!
-
Don’t Be Attached To The Results! – Although you should certainly take your dating life seriously, just show up and see what happens! Not every date is going to turn into a relationship. So be confident in how valuable you are, the value of your company and the value of your time! Put your best foot forward, and if the date is not favorable, let go of the result and just pretend it was a dress rehearsal for your last first date!
Ladies! Know that men follow your lead. Dating is something that you have control over. Follow my plan of action on your next date and it could possibly be your last!
With Love,
