It may not feel like it outside but the calendar says March.
March is usually the month when the weather starts to change for the better (at least when it stops snowing.)
I also celebrate my birthday in March (March 4th to be exact so Happy Birthday to me!) and being able to wear a cute light jacket would be a great birthday gift!
But, until I can ditch the heavy winter parka, double wrapped scarves, gloves, and of course the snow boots, I can only fill my closet.
So, what’s on my shopping list this spring…whenever it gets here? Cute moto & biker jackets of course!
Totally on trend and just like the perfect bag: it goes with EVERYTHING! Of course I’ve already did the shopping for you. Check out these cute plus size moto biker jackets.
I know it’s been a minute or five, apologies for my absence but your girl has been BUSY (plus a break from all things social media is always nice.) No worries, I’m back and hope you’ve been doing well while I was away.
So, what’s a good way to ease back into writing and sharing? By helping everyone out with their Christmas shopping of course!
Instead of our regular Wednesday Wants wish list, here’s some of the things I adore that’ll be sure to be awesome gifts for anyone on your shopping list!
Are YOU ready?
Let’s jump into it, shall we…
Let’s start with the person on your list that isn’t into fashion or you aren’t sure what they like: You can always get old faithful e.g. a gift card OR you can go the humanitarian route and make a donation in their name to their favorite charity. My favorite charities involve those that are animal helping, environment saving, and/or keeping the homeless fed & warm. There are plenty across the world to donate to so choosing one will be simple.
Here’s my fave furry friend enjoying the gift of Bark Box last year. Psst! Pets love gifts too!
Now if your Christmas shopping list includes the girl who loves fashion as well as charity, the following ideas are for you (and her!)
2018 is the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse and the celebration is happening at Disney Parks around the globe and on ShopDisney.com. As a lover of everything Disney, the items that follow are the cutest things EVER and I want them all…they’ll also be the perfect gift for anyone on your shopping list.
These Beats by Dre Apple headphones are a must have! Not only are they functional because they’re cordless but they’re super cute!
Socks. Yes, SOCKS! Everyone needs socks and why not get some colorful fun socks?! I probably have way more socks than I’ll ever need but every time I see a really cute pair, I end up getting them. These particular socks come as a set with a matching box for each pair, advent calendar style! (FYI, they also have a mens set and I’d get those too because…double the cuteness!)
This single serve coffee maker comes WITH the special edition mug and it’s under 30 bucks! You get to save money and give the coffee lover in your life the perfect gift!
You can’t go wrong with jewelry. Even better…personalized with the receivers birthstone. Just make sure you get the right month lol aquamarine if they’re a March baby like me!
Because being cute yet comfortable is a thing! This two-piece pant set from Premme comes in several colors including a sunshine bright yellow! Some sizes & colors are sold out but you can add your email to the wait list…trust me, do it.
Thank GOD stacked and chunky heels are back and still in for 2019! Listen, I love heels. I love wearing them, I love how they look, love how my calves look in a sexy stiletto but let’s face it… we (I) can’t wear skinny heels everyday or even every time I go out without wanting to take them off and slip on those emergency flats because of the pain! These are for my chunky heel lovers:
For everyday/on the go/at work/just don’t want my feet to hurt and look cute at the same time heel
FYI: They come in red.
And here you see how cute they’re styled with a fishnet sock and I’m here for it!
If I’m going give into the crazy, clunky, old people sneaker trend, it’s going to be stylish fall into the trend of the masses. Thankfully Steve Madden gets me and made this ‘Cliff’ sneaker. There a TON of colorways to pick from and these three a just a few…
A few of these items may be on sale starting Black Friday. Even if going out into the the shopping frenzy that is Black Friday isn’t your thing, you can easily grab these things online in the comfort of your own home in your PJ’s! I’ll be clicking the keyboard keys with you in hopes of grabbing some of these items on sale.
Hopefully I’ve covered all the ladies on your shopping list…just remember, If I like all of these…pretty sure she’ll LOVE them!
I love color… bright colors… pastel colors… dull colors… I love them ALL! But this edition of Wednesday Wants didn’t start out as a post about three of my favorite colors.
Confused? I’ll try to fill you in and make this a short story um if I can haha.
Ready? Ok!
So this originally started as a Valentine’s Day/date night/just relaxing at home outfit ideas post (yes, practically a month ago ?)
BUT the night I was finishing up, Comcast/Xfinity decided to do “updates in the area” and I lost internet for 14 hours (I despise them btw)! Then when I tried to salvage the post the next day, the fan on my laptop went haywire, THEN when I tried to finish via my phone, the formatting was off and messed up the previous work that was completed! So needless to say, trying to complete this post has been one frustrating ass journey.
Started from the bottom now we here!
If anything that looks off or weird, me and usually my perfectionism are sorry.
Soooo
Let’s do this!
Starting with PINK! Yes, it’s a fave. This tomboyish, sports loving, car know-it-all LOVES pink! I don’t wear it often but know I always have something pink with me.
Those were 12 items currently on my wishlist in pink, black, and white! Feel free to get your shop on and drop me a line if you’ve found something you like!
Chromat never disappoints when it’s time to go down the runway and show the world what a diverse show looks like!
This fashion season proved no different.
The 2018 Fall (autumn)/Winter runway was, as usual, filled with diversity from the people at Chromat! Featuring models of ALL shapes, sizes and backgrounds strutting their stuff down the runway, I shouted “YASSS” so much while looking at the pictures online.
So without further ado, join me in the excitement with LOTS of my faves (in slideshow form) from the runway show at New York Fashion Week!
As if I couldn’t love the founder of Chromat, Becca McCharen-Tran more… she had to go and put Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and energy drinks as accessories down the runway!! Snacks are the new handbags y’all!
You can find this Rachel Roy for $209.99 in sizes 1X-3X (currently on sale at Nordstrom so hurry if you want this fabulous jacket)
Now, my second favorite thing this weeks Wednesday Wants:
From Rachel Roy, this super cute bag charm! If you’re looking for something that won’t break the bank or just want something new to spice up your bag game…this is it!
Maxi dresses are always a go-to wardrobe staple. For obvious reasons…they’re comfortable, they don’t cling to places you don’t want them to and when they’re loose…they hide any imperfection. So who wouldn’t want the easy style of a maxi dress?!
I’m always on the hunt for plus size fashion places to shop and share with you guys but this time, the fashion came to me! Plus size maxi dresses are usually frumpy and not styled to fit curves, this isn’t true with this one.
This is the Alyssa Kimono V-Neck Maxi Dress in Navy Blue. You can find this dress and many others in tons of colors at GCGme.com. The kimono sleeves are what sold me on this particular style…usually, I hide my arms but with this dress, they’re perfectly graced by the cut and fabric. No need to add a shrug or jacket.
The pics don’t do this dress justice! It’s a gorgeous blue and flows the way a dress should.
I think I’ve found the perfect dress for one of my spring vacations! Of course, it’s too cold here in Michigan to flaunt about in the elements but I just couldn’t wait to try it on! Also, super fast shipping from this company, I’ll be sure to keep them in mind for future shopping endeavors. Well, that’s one outfit down and about 10 more to go to make sure I over-pack successfully!
This dress was given to me for my honest opinion which is my own.
Despite what it feels like outside, it is actually November…MID-NOVEMBER!
Eventually, we will need a winter coat. Trust me on this. Being from Michigan, I love the fall season but I’m dreading the day we see our first frost. The best thing we can do now is to be prepared!
Whenever those winter chill elements decide to hit us in the face, I’m here to provide a little help with your coat shopping. Finding the perfect outerwear to keep us warm can be task but don’t let that overwhelm you. You want to find a jacket or coat that you’re comfortable in, that you can actually move in and of course one that will keep you warm. In short, you want a coat to function, fit well, and look absolutely fabulous in!
Below, I picked out several options for both style and the elements! There are jackets/coats that will keep you warm if you’re out when the sun goes down with the temp and jackets that will wrap you in warmth if it happens to snow.
The first row of jackets (and one vest) are for those days when the chill isn’t quite chilly enough. Perfect for the days when you need to run errands but the wind may be a tad brisk. Shop these great items by clicking below…bonus…some of these buys are ON SALE! Hurry!
For the second row of coats, these will definitely keep you warm when the wind decides to make your eyes water. These buys can last through fall all the way through the winter snowstorms. These are also on sale so head on over and pick one up!
I’m usually so excited when September or February rolls around and not just because it’s a new weather season. It sparks a time during the year that fashion designers and fashion royalty hit the streets of NYC, Milan, Paris and London to show off their best. This year just seems different. Not sure if it’s because the more I write about fashion, the more frustrated I become with the lack of curviness in these streets (runways) or if fashion just feels stagnant.
Probably a bit of both.
So when I started seeing runway shows and pics fall through my inbox and Twitter timeline, I shuttered. Then I got glimpse of something special. My eyes popped and a huge smile came across my face because several designers have forgone “tradition” and actually added some curves to strut down the runways of New York City!
Fashion designers Christian Siriano, Becca McCharen for Chromat, and my personal hometown of Detroit favorite Tracy Reese (just to name a few) have all ditched stereotypes to showcase the curves of real women.
In the next few series of post, you’ll find a few of my faves!
Summer is just about over! For those in between days when it’s not quite cool enough for a sweater and you still want to look cute, what to do? Or if you’re like me, you want to get at least one more wear out of that perfect summer maxi dress…
Simply pair a denim jacket and sandals with your maxi dress and you’re all set to go for a Sunday stroll in the park!
Of course I took my furry baby beagle Chipper (who’s now 5 and loves to pull me) for a walk through the park! Dubbed “Great Expectations Maxi Dress by Perfectly Priscilla” is spot on! Needless to say this dress meets and exceeds my expectations! It is both cute and functional, isn’t heavy so it doesn’t weigh me down. It isn’t too thin, so no one will be able see through the fabric! I am absolutely in love with this dress! It’s the perfect length even for my short 5’3″ frame without any alterations.
Speaking of the fabric…the print! Oh my gosh, the print!
It has a very Moroccan motif that I’m absolutely in love with! The material is perfect for summer or an almost fall day. Bonus: the upper part of the strapless dress is lined!
Must say, I’m pretty excited about fall weather coming. For me, there’s nothing better than a pair of jeans and a sweater when the air is crisp. Can’t wait to see what Perfectly Priscilla has in store for the fall and winter! I’ll definitely grab a couple of stylish things.
This cute plus size maxi dress was provided by Perfectly Priscilla for my honest review.
So he spent Thanksgiving with you and your family now it’s time for you to head to his folks’ place for Christmas. Well, that all sounds like a fun time until you start freaking out about what to wear!
No worries!
First, ask yourself these 3 questions:
Where will you be going? (i.e. city, country, cold state or warm place)
How long will you be there? (you’re going to need more than one outfit)
Is it casual or formal?
Once you have the answers to those questions, it’s waaaay easier to narrow down your outfit choices.
If you’re still having trouble figuring it all out…I’m here to help!
Here are several plus size outfit ideas for any weather.
Look one is perfect for the casual holiday gathering and features a cute versatile plus size Danica top from Fashion To Figure, Lena black stretch pants from Lane Bryant and square gift box Kate Spade clutch that I am absolutely DYING to have in my collection right now! (Hint hint wink wink 🙂 )
Look two is just a little bit more fancy/dressier than look one but still has all the comfort. A gorgeous “darling batwing” peplum top in a creamy white color from Fashion To Figure that will hide any problem areas (uh win!) Attention! jeweled shoes from Kmart (yes, THAT Kmart) in a perfect shade of camel. The featured gold DVF bag is currently sold out on Nordstrom.com but you can find similar bags by clicking here or visit DVF.com. Coated black pants that will more than likely have you feeling sexier than ever from Lane Bryant. Your man will probably want to rip them off of you once the night is over!
Look three gives you wonderful plus size outfit ideas that are dressier and well, um…dresses (and a skirt)! If you’ll attend a more formal event/dinner with his family, these dresses are shape flattering and perfect for any holiday dinner event! I tried to pick dresses that stayed within a “holiday color scheme” so you won’t stick out in a bad way. The red & black lace trimmed dresses are from Eloquii, the black velvety soft princess seem dress is from eshakti (which custom fits your clothes with the measurements you send them! From size 0-36W, they’ll be sure to give you a great piece! Last but not least, the Dia chevron foil skirt from Fashion To Figure. Bonus, these dresses can totally be worn more than once to any type of shindig later on. The shoes are in no particular order, mix and match as you please!
Each holiday look idea, is featured with a dressier shoe. Whether it’s a flat or a heel, be sure that whatever shoe you choose is comfortable enough to wear for a couple of hours. You can also pull your sneakers out of the car or carry some really comfy slipper socks in your purse for this exact occasion! I’m sure his folks will understand. Of course with most of America having a “heat wave” it’s kind of hard to dress for 60+ degrees in December so those looks are all perfect with or without a coat.
