Fashion Week

Fashion. Week.

It’s here!

I had an epiphany…more like an EUREKA! moment.  Well maybe it wasn’t anything like that but I did wake up out of a deep slumber to type this so that has to count for something, right?  Anywho,  I really just want to sit back and be a fan of fashion for the next few days.  Just like I cheer, shake my fist at the TV and yell when I’m watching sports, I’m the same way when it comes to fashion.  I’m passionate about the things that I love.  When I fall for something, I fall hard and want to be a part of my life every second of the day, almost.

Yesterday, watching all the pics roll in from blogger conferences like IFBCON and LuckyFABB just to name a few of the big ones I’m aware of (if there’s more…please feel free to drop me a line!!) Well, I got extremely excited like I was there participating.  Then, Fashions Night Out pics started to filter through Instagram and Twitter.  Then, pics of the VMA’s red carpet bounced across my screen.  Basically, it was humanly IMPOSSIBLE for me to concentrate on anything other than the pure excitement of one day venturing out to one of these events in the future.  I’ve read many posts about how fun these shindigs are and how tiresome, jet laggy and tedious the details are but as a fan…..I’m in heaven!

Here’s what I’m trying to say before I get all “long-winded” and “run-on sentence’y” yea, I just made that a word.  As the days happen, the pics come in, the models will strut and the photogs will snap.  Then every single person that works in fashion will take a big sigh of relief that the week is finally over.  As all of that is happening, if my little heart goes pitter-patter…it shall be posted.

Now, I feel like this whole post has become a giant run-on sentence lol don’t blame me people…it’s 7am and I was sleep! OH and I’m typing without my glasses lol enjoy your Friday stylish people!

Give these recipes a try and let me know how they turned out.  I’m definitely hitting up the alcohol section of the grocery store/market this weekend!  Can’t wait to try these…well at least one of them!  It’s rare that I drink so one sip and I’ll be crawling to bed.  Nice nightcap!

Oooooh la la! Oui Oui!

Last night, after my Dallas Cowboys won, I may have spent entirely too much time in Monsieur Louboutins’ world on Christian Louboutin dot com!  You’ll see how that managed to happen once you click that link haha!
A few….umm several of my faves!
I have a Paypal account…….just in case someone wants to get me an early Christmas gift. LOL! All jokes aside…my big fall “gift to myself” purchase is getting to be a pretty tough decision!

Spotted!

Spots on your pants are here to stay!

Apparently, early in the year just isn’t enough for us fashion folk.  Noooo, we’ve gotta carry the trend through summer AND fall!  Well, I’m OK with that…as long as I don’t see any of you walking the streets looking like you came out of the jungle!

Remember when I posted those stylish looks for fall? Check out Falling For Fall for a refresher. That post featured a pair of fashionable leopard pants in an updated-for-fall style, that I am absolutely in lust with.

Now THIS is how you wear leopard pants….curves are your ONLY accessory!

I’m not sure who started the spotted pants trend but it has definitely spread like wildfire!  Here are a few celebs that were spotted in spots!

I usually try to stay away from animal prints but I’m definitely going to embrace this trend…it’s too sexy not to!  Here’s the print I’m dying to try…yea I’m going all the way!

Bold color, bold print!

If you’re not ready to go all the way with wearing an animal print…..try out something small for starters….a shoe, scarf or any accessories.

Check these out…
1. Smoking Slippers Ashley Stewart $39.50
2. Michael Kors iPhone Case Zappos $38
3. Platform Bootie Ashley Stewart $69.50

5. Juicy Couture Laptop Case Zappos $98

Just remember, if you’re going to try this style…please, I repeat, PLEASE don’t go leopard print crazy.  You know what I’m talking about!

Giveaway

It is Fashion Week in NYC and this site has been live for a full month!

So to celebrate my love for fashion and for my one-month anniversary of Curves And Coffee, I decided to give a little something back to you guys/gals!  Yes, I’m aware that a one-month anything isn’t really an anniversary but we’re here to have some fun!

How would YOU like a one-year paid subscription to one of my absolute favorite fashion magazines?

Cover of September issue of ELLE courtesy of elle.com
Yes!  That ELLE!

Well, here’s your chance to get it delivered to your doorstep!  All you have to do is leave a comment…it’s just THAT simple!

Now you’re wondering, how is she able to do this?  Well, I already have a paid 3-year subscription to ELLE that comes every month.  Recently, ELLE sent a renew notice…if I PAY (with my hard earned shopping money) for another year (which would extend my current subscription to 4 years) I can send a “gift subscription” to a friend!  So I’m getting two subscriptions and I figure, HEY! why not give this awesome subscription to a lucky reader on the blog!

This is simply from me to you.  Let’s have fun and good luck to everyone who enters!!

Don’t forget to comment!

Nailed It: DIY Water Marble Mani

As promised……a marble mani!

A water marble mani…ooh la la!

This mani was done after I shortened my nails (which I do every two months to keep them healthy and strong and that’s why you’ll notice some nail posts with different lengths…)

1. I started with a base coat of white polish (White Wedding)

2. Loved the lavender so much I kept my middle finger solid (Belle of the Ball)

3. Used cuticle oil, ok A LOT of cuticle oil around my nails and fingers so the polish wouldn’t get stuck to my fingers as much.

4. Bowl filled with cold water…added drops of polish into the water then stirred with a cuticle stick (pattern how you want…mine was totally random)

5. Quickly dip your nails in the polish/water mixture

6. Pull out, wipe around nails (should come off fairly easy if you used cuticle oil)

7. Add a clear coat and VOILA! Water marble nails!

Daykoor

…..decor

Home decor to be exact.

Chairs to be exacter.

Recently, I realized my fascination with wild upholstered chairs is a bit more than just a fascination.  I’ve been actually hunting down chairs that I dare to desire.  There is absolutely no room in my apartment for a chair but dang nabbit if I don’t find one and put it in storage til I find a bigger place!  I mean, that’s the ONLY logical thing to do, right? LOL

I have absolutely NO idea who makes, who upholstered it or who even uploaded this picture on Pinterest!

All I know is…this chair needs to be in my possession…even if I find this fabric, I’m sure I can find an old chair to be reupholstered.  If anyone knows who, what, when, where, why and how to get this chair…shoot me an email!

GO GO GO  <—- Click it!! Pretty please!

This may be a shameless post or not really but I signed up to be a Julep Maven at Julep.  I pay $19.99 a month to get nail polish and other mani/pedi goodies in the mail every month!  I got my first package which included two different nail polishes and an exfoliating and moisterizing lotion…which you can read H E R E.

The shameless part…

If I get a certain number of referrals, I get a free month of goodies!! Amazing right?!  I think so.  You can sign up just like I did.  You’ll take a quick quiz to determine what your fashion style is by answering questions about outfits and shoes and things of the like.

My style: I’m a Bombshell!!

The link above that says “Go Go Go and click it” takes you to my referral page to sign up!  I’m not pushing you to do it, I just think it’s a pretty cool thing for us beauty freaks.

So that wasn’t THAT shameless, was it? 😉
