Forever the quintessential rock star style, Ronson opted for soft and starched fabrics for a spring style that’s sure to flatter any body type. Even though the Charlotte Ronson line doesn’t offer larger sizing, it won’t hurt to steal these looks for your own closet!
Are just a few words I’d use to describe Carolina Herrera and her collections. Season after season, Herrera gives us bold yet feminine looks that will take your wardrobe wherever you want to go! This season focused on displaced floral patterns and thigh skimming dresses that are perfect for lunch with the girls.
Mara Hoffman interprets summer like no other designer I’ve come across. The prints she chooses always make want to hop on a plane and take a tropical vacation so I can feel the sand beneath my feet.
Alexander Wang went full on androgyny for his spring show.
Slicked back hair, less than minimal makeup, and did the models have eyebrows or am I tripping? Either way, they strutted down the runway with the most serious facial expressions! Mr. Wang gave us a sporty yet sophisticated spring 2015 collection which featured bright colors against black mixed with pure white.
Christian Siriano pulled out all the tricks in his hat for this collection! From laser cutout suits (yes SUITS) to floor length ball gowns to the softest of sheath dresses, the spring 2015 collection was a treat from beginning to end. This collection seemed to have a look for every type of style and any kind of event. I’d wear a laser cut suit to the office, who wouldn’t?!
Tadashi Shoji always gives us the romanticism that we need during New York Fashion Week. The sprring and summer collection for 2015 picked up right where he left off (with a little more sexy thrown in). Structured silhouettes were met with sheer cutouts and lace overlays. I really want to have several pieces in my closet to put on for a rainy day or for the days I just want to feel like a queen!
Is it just me or did fashion week sneak up on us this year? Maybe it’s because I have so much other stuff going on now, that it’s hard to keep up with the ever-evolving happenings. Eh. Either way, Curves And Coffee is here to bring you the daily fashion week beats from runway to runway.
Yes, the main focus is the physique of a curvaceous woman here but the love of “all things fashion” prevails each season. So sit back, relax, and enjoy as I bring you my fashion faves from Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. I’ll try to keep this post “sticky” and updated with all the links to my faves as they’re posted. That way, you guys can simply click here and see if your treasured designer is one of mine as well!
Marissa Webb won’t ever do anything wrong in my book!
She was once the head designer at J.Crew before venturing out into the fashion world with her own label. As a fashion chick who absolutely loves straight lines, Marissa will always be my BFF in my head. Since I don’t work in the traditional office setting, I live vicariously through the girl she designs for. That girl is young, fresh faced and professional and might work in a place requires a jacket or suit pieces everyday.
The collection for spring and summer is very breezy and easy-going with just a touch of structure coming through in jackets.

This collection has “American bad ass and flirty girl” written all over it! Needless to say, I’m totally here for it!
Day one of fashion week in the big apple had a sultry start! Nicholas K got things going with a collection that will have me visiting Dubai immediately! The desert khaki’s and army greens were just the tip of what 2015 will bring! Head wraps, silky fabrics, leather accents, and loose-fitting garbs equals me swooning over every model that took to the runway.

Not only did this collection have all things desert, the makeup was heavenly! Each model looked as if she’d been in the sun and heat all day with dewy skin.
And get ready ladies who love eyeliner and the sexy dark Kajal eyeliner look….
This collection took me to Sex and the City 2 (the movie) if you’ve seen it, you know EXACTLY what I’m thinking!
Yes, it’s still “fashion week” and yes, the world of fashion is STILL jet setting across the globe!
What you may not know is this; while the Brits and the fashion obsessed natives traveled to London, there was also a fashion week(end) dedicated for plus size women! The British Plus Size Fashion Weekend (or BPSFW for short) took place last weekend (February 14 & 15) during the first three days during London Fashion Week. This year marks the second anniversary for such a great event!
You bet yours truly is going to try to make it next year! I should probably start saving now for a London weekend getaway! There is nothing better than seeing all these gorgeous curvaceous bods strut down the runway!
