Nailed It: Salon Effects by Sally Hansen

Marble nails have been BIG all summer.  I’ve found tons of different techniques to try and I’ve been through them all….trial and error of course.  I’ll be sure to post more marble nail designs soon!
If you’re intimidated by doing marble yourself, don’t fret! There’s plenty of easy to-do at home products…like nail stickers.
Here’s an older marbled manicure from March (my birthday month) I know this simply by the Glamour issue lol!
I used Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips.
This particular design is Collide-O-Scope
Seriously easy…..peel, stick, buff and GO!
Downside for me….removal (with polish remover) took FOREVER!

Sugar Baby

I’m a fan of sugary sweets.  No substitutes can enter this bod.

That was dramatic!

Ok, I’m kidding (a little!)  I do love sweet snacks but you and I aka “WE” do need to pay attention to what’s going into our bodies.  The most effective way to do that, is to actually put good things into our bellies.

Belly, meet  KIND SNACKS.

I actually had this particular nut bar on accident lol go figure!  While waiting to pick up my car back in March, I was offered a snack (apparently I look kinda peaked to people if I haven’t eaten all day…who knew?!)  So, I took a bite, loved it and the rest is history!

Seriously, it takes a lot for me to actually like something that isn’t a peanut butter cookie or lemon bar sprinkled with powered sugar.  For me to like this nutty little thing means it has to be good!  Added bonus: IT IS FREAKING GOOD FOR YOU!

Check out their site and all the other goodies.  I’m on my way to grab a couple myself!

London’s Calling! Patriotic Plus Size Olympic Style

It’s summer and it’s 2012 and that means, the Olympics are here!

After being in action for a full week now, I can say with confidence…I’ll never be an Olympian! LOL! Have you see these chicks arms?! Goodness!

Anywho…

Watching the Olympics has given me a little bit of USA fever! I woke up this morning looking for anything red, white or blue to show my love for this country.

(Insert me belting out Star Spangled Banner in the middle of my apartment)

So after looking in my closet and realizing I don’t have that many American flag colored items, I wondered if anyone else had this issue.  That led me to a quick search. Here are a few things that you can wear to show your support without wearing a flag outside.  Who really wants to wear a flag as an outfit?  More power to you if that’s what you chose to wear today (if you’re actually a spectator in London!)

If you’re chilling here in the states like moi, watching previously recorded programming via NBC…here’s what we can wear:

Colored jeans! They’re EVERYWHERE! I mean EVERYWHERE! They look good on any body type too so don’t be afraid to wear a pair! For us curvy girls…find these at Saks!

For your eyes…anything with a cat-eye shape is definitely “in” right now.  A cheap and uber chic way to add any color to your outfit…sunglasses!

Sunglasses from OldNavy.com

White $4.97

For your feet…how about a super cute pair of Superga’s!! Classic style that can be worn even when you’re not feeling festive!

Superga 2750 Cotu Classic in Navy

$65

But, you can still wear that flag if you want…

Saving Pennies: Balenciaga Wants

There is absolutely nothing I want more than THIS! Except maybe a castle overlooking my own private lake but I’m being realistic here!  I’ve had dreams of carrying this bag in the crook of my arm for several months now…I’m even on a shopping ban so I can kiss it!

Meet the bag that will deplete my savings.

Welcome!

Well hello there!

Welcome to ye ole little spot on the web (again lol.)  Except this time, things are little bit different than my other personal blogs from the past.

I’ve created this blog to express the many things that inspire me in everyday life.

As a semi-reformed shopaholic, I clearly have a thing for shiny and colorful items such as clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry, shoes and bags…did I mention shoes and bags?! Ok, “semi-reformed” may have been a bit of a stretch, I have a shopping problem…admitting it is the first step to recovery!

There are tons of things that I find randomly throughout the day whether surfing the inter-webs or simply out doing everyday life things. From finding new recipes to try in the kitchen to looking at the dream kitchen to cook it in…I’ll post it here!

Enjoy!
