“Mrs. Obama chose a navy Thom Browne coat and dress with fabric designed on the style of a man’s silk tie. The first lady wore the ensemble as she and her family entered St. John’s Episcopal Church across from the White House for a service, a tradition on Inauguration Day.
Mrs. Obama’s belt and shoes are from J. Crew and the cardigan is designed by Reed Krakoff, according to a White House official. Her necklace was designed by Cathy Waterman.
At the end of the Inaugural festivities, the outfit and accompanying accessories will go to the National Archives.

Tennis Down Under with the Williams’ Sisters
Tennis, anyone?
The 2013 tennis season is now underway down under! Kicking the year off in Australia for the Australian Open, the men and women of the tennis world got busy on the courts. Busy using their rackets you dirty minded people, get your heads out of the gutter!
The very stylish and curvalicious Serena Williams definitely showed us her flare for fashion in Australia. She won her first match easily 6-0 6-0 despite having a dangerous and scary fall during the first set of the match. As of now she said she’s feeling OK but a little sore after rolling her ankle. I must say, she did take a very stylish fall and I hope she heals quickly and continues to kick butt!
70th Annual Golden Globes 2013
Were you one of those people who got all dressed up to watch the rich and famous while eating popcorn? Nah, me either!
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook (by the way facebook.com/curvesandcoffee go ahead and hit the LIKE button for me, I know you want to!) you know that I did a little or a lot of live-tweeting! Tweeting while a television program is on, has to be one of the greatest joys of Twitter! It’s like watching tv with a room full of friends that all live in different parts of the world but we all come together for that one event. Try it out sometime!
So the Golden Globes honored some of our favorite actors and actresses of film and prime time TV shows. It’s also the first of many award shows of the new year (after the Peoples Choice Awards) and serves and the opening ceremony so to speak for the big awards such as the Oscars.
This years show was hosted by two of the most hilarious women in Hollywood, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler! They’re so incredibly funny that normally I’d turn the channel after the red carpet arrivals but last night, I managed to make it through most of the show!
Speaking of red carpet…here are my favorite looks from last night in no particular order of course…
Okay stylish sweets! I’m off on a hunt to find out whose shoes, whose jewels, what bag and if anyone had any wardrobe malfunctions ha ha! Hope you enjoyed these Curves top picks!

The Great & Powerful Oz: The Pantone Color of the Year 2013
Welcome to Friday stylish sweets! What a better way to start the weekend off than with things that are “a lively, radiant, lush shade of green?” That is, of course according to Pantone.
Pantone, the company that gives us a new color to love or loathe every year has done it again! The color for 2013 is Emerald. Yes, green, the color of, well… MONEY! That’s pretty much all I needed to know. As a girly girl, I’ve never been fond of the color green so this one will have to grow on me. Weird, huh? I went to college with the colors green and white, everything said “Go Green”. How can I not be a cheerleader for green?!
* Light-bulb *
The best way to get accustomed to something so unfamiliar is to find things you like about it. Sounds easy enough. Let’s see… I like money, actual emeralds and oooh those green skinny jeans I purchased months ago! Remember those? Check it out here in the post, “Drops of Color.” Essentially, the shopaholic within is rejoicing right now! The idea of finding more clothing and accessories in emerald is now emphatically exciting!
If you’re lost on where to start in the “green zone”, I put together a few items via Polyvore to get you guys and ladies started. If you look through the items below, you have tons of green options. Stylish ones if I do say so myself.
Pantone is calling emerald, “a vivid verdant green, enhances our sense of well-being further by inspiring insight as well as promoting balance and harmony.”
That seals the deal for moi! Balance and harmony! We could all use a little more of that in our busy, hectic lives. Go Green! Uh. Go Emerald! Let me click my heels three times to these emerald green heels on Heels.com and make my way to Oz!
Curves And Coffee’s Most Memorable Moments of 2012
Can you believe there’s only a few more hours left in 2012?! Cray cray, right?! Well, tonight, we’re gonna party like it’s 1999! I’m kidding but we will pop bottles and kiss strangers at midnight…by stranger I mean, your s/o or your cat or maybe even your puppy!
Since today is all about reminiscing the days of the year, I figured I’d explore my favorite posts from this year. It only seems right. So let’s have little fun and take a look at my three favorite and most exciting posts!
3…2…1…
1. Any of the fashion week posts! I enjoyed waking up at 4am to watch live shows from Paris on my laptop. My favorite show would have to be Burberry or Fendi …can’t decide which one I like best so you can be the judge.
2. Halloween Mani: “There Will Be Blood” this was a fun mani to do because it was the first one that I was able to do a DIY post and include each step as I finished. Plus, the finished product was amazeballs!! Got sooo many compliments. Hope you guys liked it because it was fun to do!
3. The first Polyvore outfit post. Did I tell you, it took me hours to complete those outfit boards?! HOURS! I really don’t know how everyone else makes those post look so easy and effortless lol I’m missing something. Then again, I’m pretty indecisive so I’ll add a different bag every ten minutes. It was all worth it in the end…the tweet and post was retweeted by Botkier on Twitter!! Several times! My first brand acknowledgement…ah-mazing!
That’s it! Those are my most memorable blog moments on Curves and Coffee! I’m hoping to have many many more as 2013 goes on. You guys have made this the most exciting five months of my life and I’m so glad to share with you. Thank you for visiting and taking the time out to read and keep browsing.
Have a save and happy new year and remember to be stylish!

New Years Eve 2013
Welcome to the weekend stylish sweets!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday or whatever your beliefs may allow you to celebrate. My day was perfectly spent in Snoopy pajamas with my family! My mother loved her gifts from our favorite store (Coach) and she surprised me with Coach goodies and a new Canon Powershot camera *insert me doing the running man*! I desperately needed a new camera and cannot wait to use it and show you guys the pics (once I get a memory card) minor details for a photoshoot. There’s a perfect photo op coming up soon! New Years Eve!
10…9…8…7…6…wait, what am I going to wear?!
I swear I’m not a procrastinator! OK, maybe I I I put things off, sometimes. Not all of the time but just some of the time. Yea, let’s go with that.
Three days before New Years Eve and I don’t have anything to wear! Totally reminds me of NYE two years ago when friends and I vacationed in Georgia. Took me two weeks to find an all black outfit for an “All Black NYE Bash”. What are the odds that I’d struggle to find something black?! I found the shoes first that year and that’s probably where I went wrong. Starting from the bottom is always going to be a task. Funny thing, I did the same thing this year…whomp whomp. When you see that perfect pair of shoes, you just HAVE to buy them, HAVE to! It’s Shopping 101!
Here are the shoes I have picked to step into the new year. First tweeted by Nordstrom then purchased by me (after an exhausting web search of course!) They are none other than Nine West and if you go to their site instead of Nords…..they’re ONLY $69 instead of $149. Shhh, don’t tell Nordstrom that. Oh hello new sparkly shoes!

Now, time to figure out what’s going to go WITH these shoes. Since I spent $$$ on shoes, I’m more than likely gonna grab things that are already in my possession. Soooo…all the items below are as close as possible to what I have in my closet give or take a couple items. The item choices that I don’t own, come from stores online that can be easily bought with a quick trip to the mall so no worries on my short time limit.
What do you think? I’m simply going to dinner and dancing…nothing fancy. Well, that is, if these shoes arrive or I’ll be sitting at home watching the ball drop. Which isn’t a bad idea now that I think about it! I can sit in my pajamas with these heels on and sip bubbly without freezing!! Also, won’t have hurting toesies at the end of the night.
Hmm…..

Hey Good Looking: Megan Fox
Someone is back to looking like her old self again! (Someone other than me this week.)
Hey there Ms. Megan Fox or Mrs. Brian Austin-Green and mother of Noah, looking good and looking great! Can you believe she just had a baby?! Me either! I tweeted yesterday about how good she’s looking and it was nowhere near a play on the new mother. Honestly, it absolutely slipped my mind! It finally dawned on me while I was searching for the designer of the dress she has on above and below. Can’t remember where I saw it but the title was “new mother Megan Fox” and there was a double take. Whoopsies, Rena forgot.
Regardless of any of that stuff, I saw these pics and my first thought was…wowzers, she’s back to looking like the Megan from Transformers…sultry and sexy instead of the different look she had going on for quick minute there after Transformers. So, Megan…welcome back!
She was spotted on the red carpet premiere of “This is 40” a sequel to “Knocked Up” in theaters December 21st starring Leslie Mann, her beautiful Apatow daughters, Paul Rudd, and Megan Fox. .
