Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2013: Gucci

Let the show begin! Milano Moda Donna if you’re good with the language of Italy of course. If you’re not, don’t fret it translates into Milan Fashion Woman (that’s what Google Translate tells me) or loosely and much easier Milan Women’s Fashion.

Now, I feel like I should give you some sort of warning, perhaps. Let’s preface this post with…

This is Gucci. We like Gucci. I love Gucci. Gucci looks good. There’s a lot of pictures from the Gucci show below.

Basically my dear sweet fashionistas, I went through the pages of shots from the Gucci Women’s Autumn/Winter 2013 runway show and I just couldn’t help myself! Needless to say, someone got a little carried away! That just means there’s more for you to look at! Enjoy several of my faves from the collection ladies and gents!

London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2013: Burberry

A runway show from Burberry never ceases to amaze me. Seriously, for the few years, I’ve watched each show in awe! How can a person like and want every single thing that comes down the runway?! Except for maybe three things, I could honestly purchase two of everything…if I had the money to do so of course. Pity.
While we’re on the subject of money, here are a few of the famous front row faces of the show.
From left to right: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Freida Pinto, Kate Beckinsale, Tinie Tempah and Rita Ora.
The Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Fall & Winter show for 2013 was a collection that tugged at the heart strings. I mean that both literally and figuratively. The collection featured fabrics of gold and hearts while the song “Happy Together” (imagine me and you) played in the background. Oh yea, speaking of music…live band, singer Tom Odell, bass player AND choir played as the showed winded down.
15 minutes of love… Enjoy the show!
Grommets/eyelets, hearts, gold, leather, fringe and animal print! What’s NOT to like about this collection?! Ok, I may be a tad bit overzealous, that’s only because when I’m bored, I tend to doodle lots and lots of hearts! Sooo yea, that could be it! Let’s take a look at my favorite of favorites from the collection…

London Fashion Week F/W 2013: Daks

Taking a trip across the pond as fashion week(s) continues!

There’s just something about Daks that makes me want to walk around the city and hail cabs all day! Well, maybe, hop on one of those infamous red buses in London! The Fall/Winter 2013 collection looks so effortlessly city chic it’s sickening! I’m having a serious problem with these cropped trenches NOT being in my closet right now! Not to mention, that they don’t come in a size for my curves! Normally, I’m not too obsessed about clothes in my size because I always find a way or style that fits the look I’m going for perfectly! Plus, I’m a fashion slave…I love it all no matter the size. (photos courtesy of Getty Images)

Enough about me, let’s see the clothes!
Hmm…I’ve never been a floral print type of girl, til NOW!

London F/W 2013: Vivienne Westwood Red Label

Our lady of fashion has done it again. Shocked us all with her creativity and with the many ways she can think outside of the box. I don’t think that phrase has ever meant more than right now.
First, let’s enjoy the abstract wildness that is the make-up for the Red Label show.
What do you think?

In an interview for  The Daily Mail UK, Westwood was asked about what she thought of her collection:

“I thought it was brilliant and I just loved the combination of the colors  the tights, the clothes the shoes, the bags, the tailoring.I just wanted absolutely every single piece, which is very rare for me. I just loved this collection. I thought it was fabulous.”

New York Fashion Week and Calvin Klein…yes please and give me more!
Already in love! Perfect “suit” for the office, not to mention a nice big belt buckle! Shine on!
These pieces have a midsection cutout….totally game! This look will definitely work with curves!
And to finish……LEATHER of course!

Not to be outdone, the luxurious feel of crushed velvet and rich furs.

Nail Art DIY: Kisses

Smooches!

Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday February 14th better known as Valentines Day! Whether you celebrate the “holiday” or not, I’m always sending smiles and hugs your way. Just to update you-stylish-sweets-you; I’m still having laptop, battery, power cord issues but don’t fret. There’s currently a battery on its’ way to me as you read this! According to my shipment tracking numbers, it should be here by Saturday! With that said, I’m sending the rest of my love to the mail and delivery people!

What’s a blogging girl to do without her laptop? Easy…shop! I had a little retail therapy in the form of beauty products (nail polish goodies to be exact.) I made a trip to Target to get oohh I don’t know, maybe three or four things but ended up at the register with a buggy full of stuff. Target gets me EVERY single time you guys!

The Beauty Loot:
Paint & Stencil Kit by Kiss
Price: roughly $6 for each set/kit.

I purchased two kits, Gala: White, Black and Silver Glitter along with the Masquerade: Hot Pink, Blue and Green. Each kit comes with three nail polishes and 30 different sticker stencils. The nail polish has a long and thin brush attached to create the small designs with the stickers. For this weeks mani, I chose to use the Masquerade kit because it has the pink polish, jackpot! Now, this seems easy enough to use, right? Right. Well, it’s easy but it’s also tedious and time consuming.

First, you have to paint your nails and let them dry completely otherwise, once you put the sticky stencil on your nail, the paint won’t last. Then all that hard work of staying inside the lines for two or three coats would be all for naught. Here’s what I did, painted my nails the night before then applied the nail art 24 hours later. That pretty much assured me, the base coat was dry.

Now, the fun part! Picking a stencil from these 30 stickers. Since it’s the week for lovers ie Valentines Day, I went with hearts…can’t go wrong with hearts! Kiss’ directions tell you to wipe the excess polish off the brush and gently sweep the brush across the nail. Yea, umm no. You’ll quickly realize you’re going to need that excess polish in order for the shape of the heart to actually transfer onto your nail. I’m not saying just drop polish on the nail but it’s sort of a trial and error type deal. Once you do two nails, you’ll know exactly how much polish you need for the desired effect.

Once all of that is finished, you’re done! Now, me being the perfectionist that I am, I went back over the hearts with polish to fill them in for a more vibrant look. On a couple nails, I applied more polish than needed to give the bigger hearts a 3D or puff paint effect. Of course, I didn’t use the stencils again because I’m positive it would never fit back in the exact spot.

Here’s the final results! I’m a lefty and you can definitely tell which hand looks best lol! It’s so much harder for me to work with my right hand and paint my left hand but it still came out pretty good!

Overall, the Paint & Stencil Kit is a fun nail art pack that allows anyone to become a nail tech for a day or two. With that said, I’m almost sold. Glad I’ll have these great nail polishes with thin brushes to use with other nail art projects but the chances of me using two whole days for another nail art project are pretty slim. As always, I’m willing to give it another go…stay tuned to see what else comes out of these kits!

Tumbler And Tipsy

Tumbler and Tipsy by Michael Kuluva
Absolutely enjoy when I stumble upon a new or at least new to me designer! Tumbler and Tipsy launched in 2009 and it has just made my 2013! Enjoy the fun, fearless and quirkiness that is the fall line from New York Fashion Week.
I want this dress!
Just case you didn’t know, Johnny Weir was there and walking the runway!
How’s that for star support!?!

Victoria Beckham: NYFW Fall 2013

The REAL Queen B.
Mrs. Victoria Beckham
I love her. Maybe it’s because I grew up when the Spice Girls were the “sugar honey iced tea” and I always thought of myself as a mix between Posh Spice and Baby Spice. Or maybe it’s VB’s effortless style that she manages to pull off every single day. It could be the runway collections that make me want to go into debt buying every item. Have a look for yourself…
