Tadashi Shoji: New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019

From lush velvet to shiny sequins, this parade of formal frocks had it all…including a few rompers/jumpsuits! Even I’d LOVE to wear these!

Here are just a few of my faves from one of my faves from the always inclusive Tadashi Shoji.

Featuring plus size models in dresses perfectly made to hug curves just right…

All the looks from this show looked soft yet so powerful and regal…just what you want in evening wear or a party dress. Tadashi Shoji continues to amaze.

NYFW: Chromat AW 2018

Chromat never disappoints when it’s time to go down the runway and show the world what a diverse show looks like!

This fashion season proved no different.

The 2018 Fall (autumn)/Winter runway was, as usual, filled with diversity from the people at Chromat! Featuring models of ALL shapes, sizes and backgrounds strutting their stuff down the runway, I shouted “YASSS” so much while looking at the pictures online.

So without further ado, join me in the excitement with LOTS of my faves (in slideshow form) from the runway show at New York Fashion Week!

As if I couldn’t love the founder of Chromat, Becca McCharen-Tran more… she had to go and put Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and energy drinks as accessories down the runway!! Snacks are the new handbags y’all!

New York Fashion Week: Michael Kors F/W 2017

michael kors new york fashion week 2017

Michael Kors has always embraced the curves of plus size women so there’s no need for him to stop now. He continues to include a plus size line of clothing as well as including plus size models in his New York Fashion Week show.

For the 2017 Fall/Winter show, we were delighted with looks of timeless and classic fashion with a side of glamour.

Kors oh Kors, the bags! My kryptonite has and will always be a nice bag and this collection has everything I’ve ever wanted!

So those were my fave looks from the show and was that pink fur or faux fur…not sure but I loved it and I want it!

The quintessential “city girl” or “sophisticated woman” or even “ski slopes in Aspen” are the vibes his show gave off to me.

Guess what? I’m totally OK with that.

Honestly, there isn’t much Michael Kors could do wrong in my book. I might be a little bias, simply because he designs the looks that I’ll keep my closet for years!

New York Fashion Week: Christian Siriano

christian siriano nyfw 2017

Christian Siriano is literally my favorite designer. I mean, I have been a fan since the Project Runway days so that has to count for something! Not only does he make gorgeous looks, he also designs for EVERYONE. When I say everyone, I’m describing a designer who is an “all-inclusive” designer…curves and all. So much like his previous runway shows, the fall/winter 2017 show the other day included plus size models!

I’d love to add every look from the show but here are just several of my favorite looks: from smooth satin, crushed velvet, and shiny adornments…I’m looking forward to fall all over again!

Lavazza Coffee x New York Fashion Week

lavazza coffee new york fashion week

‘Tis the season for snow, street fashion, and super models in New York!

New York Fashion week has kicked off and there’s a new sponsor in town. Lavazza coffee signed on to be one of the sponsors this fashion season and hosted a few tasting (tasty) events. The Lavazza Coffee Moment happening during NYFW at Skylight Clarkson Square in the Papyrus Café & VIP Lounge.

Bummed, I’m not in New York to experience this particular event (and the many runway shows) because it sure looks delicious! Fellow coffee lovers that aren’t in NYC, we must converged one of these days!

New York Fashion Week: Chromat

Chromat is known for having one of, if not THE most diverse runways during New York Fashion Week. Their A/W 2017 show is no different, especially with the representation of plus size models. Here are a few of my favorite looks from the show…enjoy! Be sure to check out Chromat’s Twitter feed for tons of behind the scenes pics

Curves Down the Runway at New York Fashion Week: Spring/Summer 2017

So, it’s fashion season (yep, that’s sarcasm).

I’m usually so excited when September or February rolls around and not just because it’s a new weather season. It sparks a time during the year that fashion designers and fashion royalty hit the streets of NYC, Milan, Paris and London to show off their best. This year just seems different. Not sure if it’s because the more I write about fashion, the more frustrated I become with the lack of curviness in these streets (runways) or if fashion just feels stagnant.

Probably a bit of both.

So when I started seeing runway shows and pics fall through my inbox and Twitter timeline, I shuttered. Then I got glimpse of something special. My eyes popped and a huge smile came across my face because several designers have forgone “tradition” and actually added some curves to strut down the runways of New York City!

Fashion designers Christian Siriano, Becca McCharen for Chromat, and my personal hometown of Detroit favorite Tracy Reese (just to name a few) have all ditched stereotypes to showcase the curves of real women.

In the next few series of post, you’ll find a few of my faves!

New York Fashion Week: Tracy Reese Spring Summer 2017

Not to be outdone, designer Tracy Reese incorporated real women and models into her spring/summer ready to wear line last week as well. I can’t call it a runway show but it was definitely a show! Reese, had her show in a garden along a block in NYC. Beautiful backdrop for feminine floral and lace details.

New York Fashion Week: Chromat Spring Summer 2017

Chromat always shows other designers how to include everyone in a runway show and I do mean everyone! Diversity isn’t diverse enough until you’ve seen the shows that Becca McCharen puts together year after year. By the way, Chromat has some MAJOR celebs that love the brand too *cough* Beyoncé *cough cough* Nicki Minaj and I can see why!
