Nailed It: DIY Water Marble Mani

As promised……a marble mani!

A water marble mani…ooh la la!

This mani was done after I shortened my nails (which I do every two months to keep them healthy and strong and that’s why you’ll notice some nail posts with different lengths…)

1. I started with a base coat of white polish (White Wedding)

2. Loved the lavender so much I kept my middle finger solid (Belle of the Ball)

3. Used cuticle oil, ok A LOT of cuticle oil around my nails and fingers so the polish wouldn’t get stuck to my fingers as much.

4. Bowl filled with cold water…added drops of polish into the water then stirred with a cuticle stick (pattern how you want…mine was totally random)

5. Quickly dip your nails in the polish/water mixture

6. Pull out, wipe around nails (should come off fairly easy if you used cuticle oil)

7. Add a clear coat and VOILA! Water marble nails!

…..decor

Home decor to be exact.

Chairs to be exacter.

Recently, I realized my fascination with wild upholstered chairs is a bit more than just a fascination.  I’ve been actually hunting down chairs that I dare to desire.  There is absolutely no room in my apartment for a chair but dang nabbit if I don’t find one and put it in storage til I find a bigger place!  I mean, that’s the ONLY logical thing to do, right? LOL

I have absolutely NO idea who makes, who upholstered it or who even uploaded this picture on Pinterest!

All I know is…this chair needs to be in my possession…even if I find this fabric, I’m sure I can find an old chair to be reupholstered.  If anyone knows who, what, when, where, why and how to get this chair…shoot me an email!

GO GO GO  <—- Click it!! Pretty please!

This may be a shameless post or not really but I signed up to be a Julep Maven at Julep.  I pay $19.99 a month to get nail polish and other mani/pedi goodies in the mail every month!  I got my first package which included two different nail polishes and an exfoliating and moisterizing lotion…which you can read H E R E.

The shameless part…

If I get a certain number of referrals, I get a free month of goodies!! Amazing right?!  I think so.  You can sign up just like I did.  You’ll take a quick quiz to determine what your fashion style is by answering questions about outfits and shoes and things of the like.

My style: I’m a Bombshell!!

The link above that says “Go Go Go and click it” takes you to my referral page to sign up!  I’m not pushing you to do it, I just think it’s a pretty cool thing for us beauty freaks.

So that wasn’t THAT shameless, was it? 😉

Team Spirit

The countdown for football season is officially down to single digits people!

Football?

Yes, FOOTBALL!

Chicks are fans too and I’m a diehard fan for ALL of my favorite teams!

If you’re like me, you like to look good and represent while watching or attending any sporting events.  Well thank goodness for other sports fanatics like Alyssa Milano (LA Dodgers number one fan) she even had her baby shower AT DODGERS STADIUM! Seriously, future hubby…think Atlanta Braves and Turner Field for any big day in our lives!

Anywho, Alyssa Milano aka mom aka wife aka super actress aka gorgeous….just so happens to design sports team clothing for women!  I definitely want to be like her when I grow up!  The line is called “Touch” and hellooooo double bonus…she provides sizes from XS-4XL!!!

BELIEVE IT!!!

Say goodbye to always wearing a “pink” jersey when your team colors are red and blue!  Don’t get me wrong, I love pink, clearly, but sometimes I don’t want to look like a bubblegum drop while shouting obscenities at a ballpark.

This line has been around for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it.  Not only can I find a shirt to fit over the boobies BUT I can buy more than one because they’re priced just right!

Check out Touch by Alyssa Milano at FANDALIA.COM

Almost all of your fave teams and sports are represented!  I chose to do all my hometown teams because, well, I love my city and because every sport and team in Michigan is down with Touch!

Friday Fashion Faves: Falling On A Friday

Is it really nearing the end of August or am I just imagining the date on my screen reads 8/24/2012?  I’m not sure about you girls and guys but it really does feel like it was just July 4th!!  Seriously, I distinctly remember craving BBQ and wanting to light sparklers with the night sky in the background.  Furthermore, it’s still hot as the deep south up here!  Getting reeeeally tired of burning my arm on the car door here peeps.

As I type, I’m looking at The Weather Channel… The high for today will be 89*…yes, you read that right…EIGHTY-NINE degrees.  I was hoping that maybe…just maybe, I could get away with wearing rolled up jeans and wedges this weekend.  We’re going to throw that thought all the way out of the window!

So, since I’ll be breaking a sweat walking to the car while fumbling for my keys and shielding my eyes from the glaring sun…I can only dream of wearing some of falls favorite pieces. Dorm Days: Quick Shopping Guide For College

Moving trucks, hot bodies, sweat, loud music, books…

OH

Hey there!!

Sorry, I was day dreaming about my first day of college when I moved to campus.  Crazy fun times y’all!  This reminds me of all the stuff I had to buy just for the smallest of cubicles we called a dorm room…which we had to share with other people.  It was still a fun time to be out and about with all the other college freshmen.

This is the time of year I enjoy so much!  Not because it’s cooler but because college starts and every home goods store has stuff on sale!!

I’m currently in a dorm room heaven right now!  You can find just about everything you need for your home or apartment at very low costs.  Just make sure the quality is up to your standards…you don’t want to pay $10 for 12 bath towels.  Something tells me those towels won’t get you dry or even hold their color through one wash!

If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to know where the sales are.  Try stores like TargetBed Bath & BeyondKMartWal-MartMacy’s, Lord & Taylor and etc…so on and so forth.  You can find these for yourself or if you’re a parent, be sure to check out things for their bedrooms, playrooms and even the family room!

Handy dandy towel sets!  Target is usually good about decent towel sets so this Room Essentials set would work great for your home.  Even if you don’t want to use them for yourself…think guest bathroom, kitchen, car, storage, rainy day or whatever your heart may desire.

$15

Target

4 piece fast dry towel set

Why didn’t they make these things when I was a kid?!  Screw it! I’m going to buy this…don’t judge me lol just know when you visit, this will, in fact be sitting on my kitchen counter!

Hello Kitty Toaster

$19.99

We all know how Rena feels about her coffee.  She needs it to survive and it needs to be sweet and strong! I did happen to have one of these teeny tiny coffee makers in my dorm room back in the day.  It did the job.  They make crazy cool colors now!!

$14.99

Target

Mr. Coffee

4 cup coffee maker

Mixing bowls!!!  I bake.  I bake A LOT!  Bowls are used constantly.  So it doesn’t matter what they’ll be used for, they will be used.  I might want the biggest bowl of CTC ever (Cinnamon Toast Crunch)…these look like they’ll be just fine.

$9.99

5 pack mixing bowls

Hope this was helpful to someone.  Be sure to pass it on to someone who’s going to campus or have kids going to college.

Are You a Julep Maven?

Got my first  Julep Maven box!! Whoop Whoop!!

Meet Eva (fuchsia) & Sienna (gold)

I was so anxious to try the colors that I just did my nails in both colors!  Left hand is done in Eva and the right hand is done in Sienna.  Then I got bored and decided to try out the polka dot trend…I’m not a fan.  Maybe I’ll try it again with more contrasting colors so the dots actually show up…yes, that’s what I’ll do!  The September box will be here by next week..fun times!
